We arrived in North Karelia with the root of an idea. We did not know how it would grow. Janka always dreamed of opening a cafe, perhaps in one of Europes larger centres. Fortunately, fate led us to Paateri. 

Janka is a biologist with passion for horses and deep gift of working with herbs. She is from Lapland, although her roots stretch back to Hungary. 

Iain comes from the north of England and has lived in various arctic countries. His first profession is a carpenter but he has a versatile background leading him towards wilderness guiding and food serving.
